Here's How it Works
Individuals or clubs decide what they can offer for the auction. Last year we received offers of home-stays, the use of vacation properties, tickets to events and access to time-shares, but we can think of many other things.
As a practical reality related to shipping, duties and taxes, we regret that we cannot accept physical items for sale. For more information on how to submit your offer see the page "More about offering an item for sale"
There is no deadline for offers but the earlier we receive them the better. Obviously we will stop accepting offers just before the auction closes but keep watching for new items.
Want to bid on something which is not listed? Send an email to iax@magma.ca and ask. Perhaps we can find a donor!
When offers are received, the FFI board members review them and set minimum and reserve bids based on your input. Selection will ensure that we do not have too many similar items in the one city or region.
Details of the bidding procedure are on the "More on Bidding " page. Everyone can participate in the bidding, either in person in Hamburg or through this internet site. To bid you must first register as a bidder. This saves you from having to type in your information each time you bid. Income tax receipts will be provided when requested (see section in"Auction Rules" page).
